Electrifying Motion Design

Animated explainer videos

One of the top energy suppliers in the UK, E.ON is committed to encouraging people to think about the new mobility era; a future with connected cities that offer cleaner, less congested roads.

E.ON worked with The Economist to create a white paper, an article and a microsite detailing the benefits of electric vehicles, and the revolutionary impact data will have on public transport.

PROJECT FILM:

The brief

We were briefed to create an animated executive summary video. A taster for the full report, it needed to be succinct, inspiring, and brimming with facts.

The film would sit on The Economist’s website and social channels, and appeal to the professional audience in an eye-catching way. Without piling a load of stats on the screen, our mission was to convey the importance of electric vehicles, and the level of investment needed in company charging ports.

The solution

We developed a futuristic, architectural concept based on a digital blueprint and rendered it as isometric artwork.

Our designers created a visual language from road networks, data connections and city mapping, while the animators played with scale, integrated typography and dynamic transitions to create a tight, impactful 60″ animated executive summary video.

As part of the project we supplied digital assets and created shorter cutdown versions, extending the campaign’s visual identity across social channels.
